My name is Mario Romeo and I am the new Deeragun Branch Manager.

I live locally in Townsville and have recently started my career with Queensland Country. My background originated in the Burdekin where I managed a family run agricultural business for 34 years. I commenced a Master’s degree in Applied Finance in 2007 which I successfully completed in 2009. We sold our Burdekin business in 2008 and my wife and I travelled and worked in Western Australia for some time. We returned to Queensland where we settled in Townsville and consider it the best place to live in Australia. I am very excited to start with Queensland Country and ecstatic at given the opportunity to manage the Deeragun Branch. I look forward to meeting many locals and provide financial services the Queensland Country way.

We have an open, inviting branch with some state of the art technology; this includes our coin machine and Teller Cash Recycler. We also have a Community corner for our local non for profit organisations to advertise their upcoming events and club information.

One of the most valuable ways we achieve this is through helping community organisations through local sponsorships and our Community Grants Scheme.

We also offer a unique community partnership arrangement for not-for-profit groups to support them to raise funds for their organisations. We do this by rewarding them financially when their members come to us for their banking.

Through our association as the official banking partner for some of the state’s most iconic sporting teams, like the North Queensland Cowboys and Townsville Crocs, we also give Queenslanders the chance to meet their favourite sporting teams and access unique events and opportunities.
